Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour!

On 21st December, I went just north of London with a friend to see The Making of Harry Potter at Warner Bros Studios. I'd heard good things about it before from friends who have been, and thought going at Christmas when all the set is covered in snow would be something to get us in the festive mood. I was pleasantly impressed by how good the studio tour actually was!

It's mostly self-guided, which I actually liked as it means you get to spend as much time or as little time as you like on different sights on the tour. And there's a lot packed in - the different sets like the Great Hall and the Hogwarts Express, objects like the Philosopher's Stone and the Time Turner, all the different costumes, sketches and mock-ups of different settings from the designers, and background information on how different things were filmed such as with green screens.

I was a little worried that learning all of the "how-to" would take some of the movie magic away, but it didn't - it just enhanced the films for me, and made me want to go back and re-read all of the books and watch all of the films again haha.

Apparently Hermione always wore pink, Harry always wore blue, and Ron always wore orange or green as they were the Weasley colours!

The fact it was Christmas themed was really great, too. I've not been when it hasn't been Christmas time, but Hogwarts looked amazing in the snow, and the Great Hall was decorated as if it was the Yule Ball. Here are a few more photos from the day - I really recommend going!
